These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of washingtonforsanclemente.com (the "Website"). By using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
Who we are
The Website is operated by Washington for City Council 2026 (FPPC ID #1493272), the campaign committee supporting Aaron Washington for San Clemente City Council, District 1. Contact: our contact form.
In these Terms, "we," "us" and "our" mean the campaign committee named above. "You" and "your" mean the person using the Website.
The short version
The full sections below control if there is ever a conflict.
- This is a political campaign website. Its content reflects the views of the Campaign.
- Please use the Website lawfully and respectfully.
- You are welcome to share links to our pages and quote them with credit.
- Donations are handled by Anedot under California campaign finance law and are not tax deductible.
- Your information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
- California law governs these Terms.
Campaign content
The Website presents Aaron Washington's background, positions and plans as a candidate for public office. It reflects the views and opinions of the Campaign. It is not an official publication of the City of San Clemente, Orange County or any government agency. Information about elections, districts and voting is provided for convenience. Always confirm it with the Orange County Registrar of Voters.
Endorsements listed on the Website are shown with the permission of the people and organizations named. Titles are listed for identification only and do not mean that any organization endorses the Campaign unless stated.
Acceptable use
Use the Website only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Break any law or regulation, or these Terms
- Infringe anyone's intellectual property, privacy or other rights
- Interfere with the Website's operation, security or availability, or try to gain unauthorized access to it
- Upload malware or any other harmful code
- Submit false information, or impersonate anyone or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or group
- Use the forms to send spam, or to harass, threaten or abuse the Campaign, its volunteers or anyone else
If you do any of the above, we may block your access and report the conduct to the appropriate authorities.
Content on this Website
Unless we say otherwise, the text, photos, graphics, logos and design of the Website are owned by or licensed to the Campaign. You may share links to our pages, and quote short excerpts with a visible credit and a link back to the original page. Please do not alter our content, or use our name, logo or photos in a way that suggests the Campaign endorses you or your message. Any rights you have under fair use are unaffected.
Search engines, AI assistants and answer engines are welcome to index, summarize and cite the Website's public pages, provided they honor our robots.txt file.
Information you submit
When you submit a form or send us a message, you confirm that the information is yours and accurate. You keep ownership of what you send. You allow the Campaign to use it to respond to you and to coordinate the help you offered, as described in our Privacy Policy. If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely without any obligation to you.
Donations
Donations are processed by Anedot on its own website and are subject to Anedot's terms. Contributions are governed by California campaign finance law, including the requirement to publicly report contributors of $100 or more. By donating, you confirm that the contribution is made from your own funds and that you are legally permitted to contribute. Contributions to the Campaign are not tax deductible.
Communications
When you submit a form, you agree that we may email you about your request. If you check "Campaign updates," we may also email you campaign news; you can stop these at any time by asking us. If you give us a phone number, we will use it only to respond to you or coordinate the help you offered.
Links to other websites
The Website links to other websites, including Anedot, Facebook, the Orange County Registrar of Voters and the City of San Clemente. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. A link is not an endorsement, and those websites have their own terms and privacy policies.
Accessibility
We want the Website to work for everyone, and we aim to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. If you run into a barrier, tell us through our contact form with the page address and what happened, and we will get you the information you need.
Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Website infringes your copyright, send us a message through our contact form with: your name and contact information; the copyrighted work you believe was infringed; the page address where the material appears; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, made under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. Disputes and governing law
If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms at any time and will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of the Website after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
General
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and the Campaign about the Website.
